This Course Unit is intended to equip the trainee with relevant knowledge, skills and attitudes in

Earthworks, Angular Measurements, Traversing and Tacheometry. In Earthworks, the learner shall cultivate competencies in determination of areas of regular and irregular figures using various methods and also in estimating capacity of water reservoirs using different approaches of varying degrees of accuracy. Under Angular Measurements and Traversing, the trainee shall learn how to use precise angle measuring equipment such as the Theodolite and/or the Total Station to observe, record and reduce angles to bearings in order to determine coordinates of traverse points, thus providing horizontal control . In order to gain competency in developing a topographical map, Tacheometric mapping approach shall be covered in this unit.
